ATTENDANCE POLICY FOR ALL STUDENTS
- Student attendance begins on Monday, August 7, 2023.
- Students who do not attend their scheduled class, and actively participate while in their class, will be marked absent for that time period. Active participation is defined as students completing assigned tasks in live time and contributing to the learning via class discussions. Students are encouraged to have cameras on to reflect engagement in the learning.
- Whole group instruction is three days a week and requires students’ online presence and active participation.
- Small group instruction is a minimum of two days a week. Students are assigned by teachers based on individual needs and skill sets.
- Students MUST attend assigned small group sessions and/or participate in the attendance assignment as described by the teacher’s expectations to be marked present for attendance on these days.
- Each day, if a student meets the above criteria for being marked present/participating (in AM/PM homeroom for elementary students and by class period for secondary students), the teacher will check the participated box, indicating student participation, therefore present for the virtual course. Students are assumed absent in Virtual Attendance so teachers take attendance daily.
